The central east beaches of Florida are located on the Atlantic Ocean and are the closest to the Orlando and attractions area. Popular central east beaches include Cocoa Beach, Titusville, Palm Bay, Sebastian, Vero Beach, Fort Pierce, and Port St. Lucie. Port St. Lucie, offers more public beach access points per square mile than any other coastal community. Horseback riding on the beach is a popular activity on Hutchinson Island in Fort Pierce. It is one of the few areas in Florida where horseback riding on the beach is permitted. The Atlantic Ocean’s current and waves provide great surfing opportunities for the beaches of central east Florida. Palm Bay hosts many championship worthy golf courses. Fort Pierce is home to over 4,000 plant and animal species and their natural and artificial reefs. Ormond beach, just north of Daytona beach is home to the winter home of John D Rockefeller and the classic elegance of the ages can still be felt throughout the area. In Cape Canaveral you will find many activities to enjoy including watching the cruise ships roll in and out or a rocket launch from Kennedy Space Center. Vero beach boasts many inlets where you can often see manatees.
