Take a step back in time and explore the home and gardens of Ernest Hemingway who lived and wrote there for over ten years. Tour guides are available to answer questions and provide helpful information. Visit the gardens and the rooms where Ernest Hemingway wrote many of his Nobel Prize winning pieces. The Hemingway home was built in 1851 in the Spanish Colonial style and remodeled the home to include the first in-ground pool in Key West. See the Hemingway’s collection of furniture from Spain from the 17th and 18th centuries. Stroll the lush gardens and interact with the 40-50 special six toed cats, some descendant of Hemingway’s original cat, Snow White, he received from his friend and ship captain.
