The Devil’s Millhopper Geological State Park is an unexpected miniature rainforest in a cavity 120 feet deep. Lush vegetation thrives along small streams in the limestone sinkhole. Over 100 feet of geological rock layers are exposed and researchers have been able to learn about Florida’s history through preserved fossils found in the layers. The Devil’s Millhopper became a designated National Natural Landmark in 1976. Climbing down a sinkhole is a unique experience where you will pass by waterfalls, creeks and see wildlife, hear birds, and enjoy the peace of the area.
