The Everglades National Park is a vast federally protected ecosystem located in southern Florida near Miami. It’s the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States, and it covers more than 1.5 million acres of wetlands, mangroves, pinelands, and hardwood hammocks. The park protects an incredible variety of wildlife, including alligators, crocodiles, manatees, snakes, and many species of birds. Visitors to the Everglades can experience its unique beauty by canoeing through its winding waterways or taking airboat tours for close-up encounters with native wildlife. Hiking trails offer spectacular views of the park’s landscape while interpretive centers provide educational insight into the importance of conserving this important ecosystem. There are also ample opportunities for fishing, bird watching, and camping throughout the park.

The Everglades National Park is a majestic place that needs to be preserved for future generations to enjoy. Visitors can help protect this precious resource by respecting wildlife and not disturbing their habitats, as well as properly disposing of waste materials.
